The Mercy John Memorial Trust is a charitable organization under the Societies Registration Act (Reg. E-22290/17-01-2005).
The Trust is dedicated to the memory of the Late Mrs. Mercy John who was an active volunteer for social causes related to the underprivileged. The Mercy John Memorial Home for the Aged was thus built with a view to realize her vision of bringing happiness and dignity to the lives of those in their later years.
The objectives of the Trust are fairly simple. We aim to:
- Create an elder-friendly ecosystem.
- Understand the causes of elderly neglect and provide assistance to help resolve the problem.
- Bring about a change in the perception of old age by evolving a sense of moral and social responsibility towards the elderly.
In alliance with these objectives, the Trust also operates a Medical Care Centre in its premises.
The Trust is funded by membership fees for the Home, revenue from the Medical Care Centre and donations from individuals and other organizations. Donations to the Trust are exempt from taxes under Section 80-G of the Indian Income Tax Act.
The Trust is run by a solid team of professionals from as diverse fields as Social Work, Psychology, Business Administration and Finance.
